The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) has reported that bandit attacks have displaced at least 289,375 residents across 12 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Kaduna State…..

Executive Secretary Usman Mazadu disclosed these figures during the flag-off of palliative distribution in Maraban Kajuru, Kajuru LGA, highlighting the profound impact of the banditry on affected communities.

Mazadu emphasized that these numbers represent more than just statistics, as they reflect the lives, dreams, and resilience of the affected people. He outlined the extent of displacement, with 134 communities affected in Chikun LGA alone, resulting in 26,345 individuals being displaced.

The situation is dire in Birnin Gwari as well, where 84 communities are affected, leading to the displacement of 70,893 people. Similar distress is observed in numerous other communities across the 12 affected LGAs.

The distribution of relief materials, according to Mazadu, underscores the commitment of Governor Uba Sani to address the plight of those affected by the banditry. He stressed the importance of support for the displaced population, highlighting the governor’s N11.4 billion palliative program aimed at providing assistance to those in need.

As Kaduna grapples with the challenges posed by bandit attacks, Mazadu assured that the palliatives would reach all affected communities in the 12 LGAs, reaffirming the government’s dedication to addressing the humanitarian crisis caused by the insurgency.
